Larnaca

Larnaca is the second port to Cyprus. It is one of the oldest cities in the world with plenty of history to see - it has sandy beaches and a marina which is constantly full with yachts.

It has palm trees along the promendage with shops and cafes to frequent some with panoramic views.

The city was mentioned in the Old Testament and the ruins of the ancient city can still be seen.

Larnaca has two museums which house its archaeological heritagve and these are perfectly preserved since they have been found. The surrounding area beyond the city is also full of historic ruins from the Neolithic period onwards.

Drive in to the Troodos Mountains and go pony trekking, visit waterfalls, local tavernas and see magnificent views from the top.

Take a trip to the divided city of Nicosia. It is full of little lanes to shop and eat along as well as see the remains from the old city near to the border. You can take a walk through the border provided you have your passport with you and see the old town of Nicosia, but please remember that you need to take some Turkish Lire with you as they do not accept Cyprus Pounds there.
