Portugal

Portugal is in the Iberian Peninsula of West Europe facing in to the Atlantic. It has great weather and beaches that makes it an ideal all year round destination.

The Algarve is situated in the South of Portugal and has both Arab and Roman History. Some of this history can be seen in Faro and Vilamoura.

If sports is the activity you are looking for you can find an abundance of it. You can do any of the following in the Algarve:

Play at one of the many golf courses along a 100-mile space on the coast, which is only 1 _ hour's drive from Faro Airport.

Sail at one of the sailing clubs or learn to sail at one of the 7 sailing schools.

Go horse riding along the beaches and inland along the country roads.

Scuba dive with various companies, which will take you not only diving to see the wonderful fish, but shipwrecks and even dive at night. Water-skiing, Jet skiing, Paragliding and Windsurfing are among the other water sports you can do.

Why not take the family Go Carting and have Formula 1 fun.

If the city is what you would like to see whilst in Portugal pay a visit to Lisbon and spend time in the squares and boulevards with their bars and cafes to eat and drink in. Another way to see Lisbon is by guided tour, which will ensure you see everything.

Once of the other places to visit whilst is Porto with its narrow streets in the old town and its new architecture in the new town. You may even find some unknown treasures.

If you are a seafood lover then the coastal areas will be your favourite as they have fresh fish delivered every day as it is caught locally. Other restaurants inland provide many meat dishes as well as vegetable ones. You should be able to find something for everyone.
