Leading car rental provider Avis is gearing up to celebrate the ICC Cricket World Cup in India by rolling out special discounted prices for all customers who hire a car during the tournament. Avis India is offering a 20 per cent discount on all chauffeur driven and self-drive vehicles booked while the games are on.
The tournament’s opening ceremony will take place on 17 February. The first match will be played two days later. The games will take place between 19 February and 2 April 2011 with matches to be held in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India.
Sunil Gupta, Avis India’s CEO, said when he announced the latest promotion that in India, the sport of cricket is close to being regarded as a religion. He added that because of this he was extremely pleased to be able to offer discounted rates on car hire not only to Indians, but to all those visiting the country from around the world to watch the tournament.
