Carrentals.co.uk has cemented its position as the internet’s leading car hire comparison site by coming top of the search rankings for the month of September. Internet analysts Greenlight have just published their Car Hire Sector Report for the third quarter and it shows that Carrentals.co.uk managed to take fifty-four percent of the 1.5 million car rental related searches in September.

Managing director of Carrentals.co.uk, Gareth Robinson said that the achievement was a testament to the company’s expertise. He said that despite a dire economic situation sales through the site had been far better than could ever have been predicted.

Carrentals.co.uk started life in 2003 as a car hire brokering site but was re-launched as a price comparison site in 2007. This summer the company announced that bookings were up by thirty-eight percent on a year earlier and that revenue was up a whopping seventy-two percent.

Carrentals.co.uk allows customers to compare car hire prices from over fifty of the worlds leading vehicle renting brands such as Alamo, Sixt, Budget and easyCar. Last year it won the prestigious title of Best Car Hire Website at the Travolution awards and for the 2008/9 season it was voted Best Ski Car Rental by the Good Ski Guide.

Robinson said that although coming top of the car hire searches in September was extremely gratifying the company was determined to develop its services through 2010 in order to make sure that customers and car rental firms were getting the best possible deals.
