Industry leading search market specialist Greenlight has published research showing that car hire comparator is the number one website for both social media marketing and SEO marketing in the car rental sector. The multi-award winning car rental site topped rankings in October last year for natural searches, grabbing 53 per cent of well over three-quarter-of-a-million searches made in relation to car hire. also came top on the Social Media Popularity Index. The site’s managing director, Gareth Robinson, said: “The latest Greenlight report highlights our online expertise, with our approach to search engine optimisation positioning us at the forefront of the car hire sector and allowing us to continually reach new audiences.”

“Over the last year we have incorporated an enhanced social media marketing strategy, offering new and existing customers a quick and easy way of interacting with us, and this investment is now achieving demonstrable results,” he added.

Greenlight’s research also indicated that ranked number one in terms of visibility. For October 2010 it recorded 54 per cent of searches domestically and 53 per cent of searches internationally. Overall, online visibility was up six per cent on July 2010.
