For the sixth consecutive year Enterprise Rent A Car has topped the J.D. Power and Associates Rental Car Satisfaction Study. Every year J.D. Power assesses customer satisfaction across North America’s car hire companies and publishes the results. For 2009 it found that Enterprise was the most highly regarded by customers with National Car Rental coming in second place and Alamo Rent A Car coming in fourth. Both National and Alamo have been under Enterprise’s umbrella since they were acquired by the company in 2007.
The J.D. Power survey polls both business and leisure travellers and this year’s announcements are the first time that Enterprise has been able to claim three of the top four spots for its brands.
Andrew C. Taylor who is chairman and CEO for Enterprise Holdings said that the company took a great deal of care over integrating both National and Alamo into the Enterprise family. He said that doing so was particularly challenging at a time when the world’s economy was struggling. He went on to say that customer satisfaction was paramount and that he was not going to be completely satisfied until all three car hire brands held the top spots.
Enterprise Holdings now controls around one third of all car hire at North America’s airports. The company has put into place a system of Brand Integrity Audits in order to assess best practice across its brands such as brand image, customer waiting times, counter service, returns policies and quality, cleanliness and condition of the vehicles throughout its fleets.
