A German traveller who went to Brazil to meet up with a woman he had been introduced to on the internet was left stranded after being robbed of all his personal items and cash over a month ago. This new story is the second in a series of Germans being stranded at an airport in Brazil this month.

The man had to spend an entire month in the airport before being able to fly back home to Germany, which he did last week. While there, the man was taken for a psychological evaluation as authorities could not ascertain as to why he needed or wanted to remain on airport grounds during his stay.

However, Klaus Gutschmidt has been forced to remain at the airport over the course of the month while looking for a hotel to stay at. Airport officials have commented that the relationship with the woman from the internet went sour about a week after Mr Gutschmidt’s arrival and he was looking for a room to stay at when he got robbed.

Although not injured during the robbery, Klaus Gutschmidt was left with nothing to live on. Natal airport staff felt bad for the gentleman and similar to a scene from the Tom Hanks film pooled their money together to get him meals.

Sleeping on cardboard for the last month or so, Klaus Gutschmidt will be flying back to Germany on February 16th, thanks to the charity of his friends and family who have saved up enough money to buy him a ticket home.
