Ever noticed that you tend to argue a lot more with friends and family when at the airport? According to a recent poll by travelsupermarket.com, the airport is the most likely place to argue with loved ones, accounting for 55 per cent of the poll.
Delays, queues and lost baggage all make tempers sore sky high, while fear of flying can also push tempers to breaking point. Four out of ten people claimed to suffer from stress while at the airport due to fear of flying.
According to Bob Atkinson, of travelsupermarket.com: “There is no doubt that airports can provide a very tense environment for travellers, particularly now in peak season when airports are crowded and people are travelling with families and young children. For those who feel anxious about air travel, having the option to sail from the UK is ideal as this means you have the freedom to sail to destinations far and wide without having to wait for flights and spend time in a busy airport. Whether you’re sailing away or jetting off this summer, take some simple steps to reduce stress levels and make your experience as smooth as possible. Packing thoroughly a few days in advance and leaving yourself ample time to get to where you need to be will help get your holiday off to the best possible start.”
Other stressful places were revealed to be Supermarkets at 21 per cent, shopping centres at 11 per cent, while long car journeys scored six per cent.
