A coastal town set on the sides of the Richmond River, Ballina is one of the most picturesque towns you’ll ever see. First off, there are the beaches that can be found a stone’s throw from the town. There is Lighthouse Beach and Shelly Beach, both are perfect for swimming, especially if you’re going with your family. These two beaches are constantly patrolled by lifeguards so you’ll know that you have someone to turn to in times of emergencies. If you want a more secluded and less populated beach, however, then you can choose to go to Angel’s Beach or Sharps Beach. Between these two beaches, you can also stop by Flat Rock, a large rocky outcrop that extends into the sea. It’s a great place for photos and for just sightseeing. And then, there’s Boulder Beach, which has boulders instead of sand. You can choose to get a car hire in Ballina or just walk to get to these beaches. But I would certainly suggest just getting a cheap car hire in Ballina.
