If you’re a big fan of golf, then you must be planning on visiting Augusta, Georgia. This is considered as the hottest spot in the USA when it comes to the sport. In fact, its popularity across all countries make this city among the most popular tourist destinations in the state of Georgia.

The first major and international golf tournament, the Masters, is held here every year. Popular golfers such as Tiger Woods have competed in the city’s Augusta National Golf Club. This tournament, however, is only of the many golf tournaments that the city hosts. Another is the Augusta Top Gun Series. Compared to the Masters, which is a one-time huge event, the Top Gun Series comprises successive tournaments after the sport disc golf. Organized by the Professional Disc Golf Association, the tournament occurs at different venues in the city. Some popular golfing courses for this tournament are Pendleton King Park and Lake Olmstead.

The most heavily attended and participated tournament, however, is the Professional Disc Golf World Championships. In 2006 alone, around 300 disc golfers joined the tournament with Ken Climo snatching the top prize in the end.
