Getting around Port Elizabeth can be such a pain, which is unfortunate because it is one of the best places to visit in South Africa with its majestic beaches and wonderful animal reserves. It’s almost impossible to get around Port Elizabeth in comfort if you don’t get a cheap car hire in Port Elizabeth Airport. The public buses, after all, can be rather smelly, noisy, and dank. What’s worse, they’re more of a road hazard what with the poor maintenance in most of the vehicles. Tourists are also in constant danger from pickpockets and other ‘bad elements’. It’s hard to find a bus schedule in the city, and even when you do find one, it’s practically useless because the buses are never on time anyway. Really, it would be much better if you just use your own car when going to Port Elizabeth. That way, you won’t have to suffer through the noise, the inconvenience, and most importantly, the danger of using the buses in that city. Remember also that Port Elizabeth has a very tropic climate. It’s hot there – very hot. You don’t want to stuck inside a smelly bus in a traffic jam in that kind of heat.
