Traveling to the land where Albert Einstein was born, you need at least a week to truly enjoy Germany and its many famous attractions – its historical, cultural and gastronomical offerings.
If you’re arriving at the Hamburg airport, you might want to spend a day or two here to explore the city. Hamburg is the second biggest city in Germany, after Berlin and it has tourist attractions that are worth a visit before you head off to the other cities in your itinerary.
For a good look at the city, go up the TV Tower otherwise known as Heinrich-Hertz Tower. It is the loftiest one in Hamburg and is actually a replica of the city’s major landmark, the Church of St. Michel.
Having mentioned it, you should also visit the Church of St. Michel, where you will see a huge figure of St. Michel the Archangel defeating an evil element. This is the most popular church in Hamburg.
From the airport, you should get a car hire at the Hamburg Airport so you can be on your way in an instant. If you haven’t yet booked reservations for your car hire, there are car hire companies located within the airport’s terminals.
Inside terminal 2 are Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National, Alamo and Sixt.
