With an eye for the future and a foot grounded in the past, the northern city of Spain’s Soria is an architectural treasure on the banks of the Rio Duero. Soria has endured a long history of conflict which has brought many different in cultures in contact with the city, like the Iberians and the Celts, Romans and Moors.

Yet despite its own civil strife, there remains a rich store of distinct churches. Soria houses the archaeological artefacts of Numantia at Museo Numantino. Located north of town about seven kilometres are the remnants and reconstructions of Numantia.
